QESIG - Quantitative Ecology Special Interest Group

What is QESIG?

  • The aim of this group is to connect early-career researchers interested in Quantitative Ecology, Macroecology, and Data Science, to share scientific ideas, and to promote research collaboration.

  • QESIG is also meant to bring together PhD students, who share a similar interest and view on science – who value best practices on reproducibility, transparency, and open science. It is envisioned as several meetings per year for PhDs to share experiences and build a good peer-to-peer support group.

Meetings

  • The first meeting was held by LoQE at Kampus Hybernská CUNI on 11 December 2025.

LoQE Book Club

What are we discussing?

  • We discuss relevant topics in statistics, data science, coding, and related areas. This semester (spring 2026), we will focus on the book [R for Data Science] (https://r4ds.hadley.nz/).

When do we meet?

  • The book club is taking place every first Tuesday of the month at 9:00 AM in the [Department of Botany, CUNI] (https://natur.cuni.cz/biologie/katedry-a-pracoviste/katedra-botaniky/kontakt)
